Yakimov, 19, posted 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in 33 games this season with Nizhnekamsk in the Russian-based Kontinental Hockey League. He also spent time with the Reaktor Nizhnelamsk junior team, four goals and two assists in five regular season games. The six-foot-four, 220-pound centre played for Russia at the 2014 world junior hockey championship, recording two points and four penalty minutes in seven games.
