Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Ben Lovejoy tallied a goal and an assist as the Anaheim Ducks cruised into the All-Star break with a 6-3 victory against the Calgary Flames. Tim Jackman, Pat Maroon, Kyle Palmieri, Ryan Kesler and Ryan Getzlaf all lit the lamp and Frederik Andersen made 30 saves for the Ducks, who have won five straight games. Tonight was a night we really wanted, said Lovejoy. We wanted to have a happy four days (off). Sean Monahan scored for the fourth game in a row, while Joe Colborne and Mikael Backlund also lit the lamp for the Flames, who had their four-game winning streak come to an end. Jonas Hiller stopped 13-of-14 shots in relief of Joni Ortio, who allowed four goals on 11 shots. Anaheim extended its home winning streak to 20 games against Calgary. The Flames were last victorious at Honda Center on Jan. 19, 2004. The Ducks seized control early with a three-goal first period. Matt Beleskey emerged from behind the net and slipped a pass through the crease to Palmieri, who wristed the shot past Ortio 4:41 into the game. Maroon deflected Lovejoys shot into the net with 5:01 to play in the first period and Lovejoys wrister from the top of the right circle off a faceoff win made it a 3-0 game just over two minutes later. Jackman gave the Ducks a 4-0 advantage midway through the second with a wrist shot over the glove of Ortio, chasing the Calgary netminder from the game. The Flames, however, cut the deficit to two heading into the final stanza. Backlund deposited a loose puck into the net at 11;13 and Monahan finished off a smooth tic-tac-toe passing play with a quick shot from the slot with 48 seconds left in the second. Less than eight minutes into the third, Palmieri had a power-play goal waved off after it was ruled that he pushed Hillers pad into the net. Getzlaf made it a 5-2 game after he took Corey Perrys backhanded pass and beat Hillers glove with a snap shot with 10:16 remaining. Colborne responded just 58 seconds later after he batted a loose puck past Andersen to make it a two-goal game once again. Kesler scored on an empty net with 19 seconds left to account for the final score. Game Notes The Ducks are now 23-0-6 this season when leading after the first period ... Anaheim improved to 11-2-0 over their last 13 games at Honda Center ... The Flames entered the contest with five straight road wins ... Nate Thompson and Perry each had two assists for the Ducks ... The two teams will meet again on Feb. 20 in Calgary. Appearing on TSN 1050 on Tuesday, Sean McAdam of Comcast SportsNet New England reported that the Blue Jays, along with a number of other playoff contenders were in the mix for the Boston ace.Despite being lost for the first 10 games of the regular season for leaving the bench to join an altercation, David Clarkson is taking a positive approach to his suspension, saying the on-ice brawl between the Sabres and Leafs on Sunday night has worked to unite the club. “It brings you together, it unites everybody. Im hoping thats what this did. I think its going to carry us a long way,” Clarkson said on TSN Radio 1050 Wednesday afternoon. “And I think for teams to be successful thats the type of locker room you need to have – you have to have each others back.” The rugged winger was apologetic, but at the same time proud of the way his team responded to an incident which resulted in star forward Phil Kessel being banned for the remainder of the pre-season and Sabres coach Ron Rolston fined for “player selection and team conduct.” “The phone calls that I got from around the league, my teammates thanking me, that means more than what anyone else says. Well move on from this, well squash it and Ill push these guys to be ready and when I get back Ill be raring to go.” In trying to explain the reasoning behind his decision to leave the bench upon seeing the Sabres six-foot-eight enforcer John Scott initiate a confrontation with Kessel, Clarkson said his instincts took over. “Its a tough because if you felt like your brother or your sister or a family member was in trouble what would your reaction be? “I think what I got out of it was to next time to use my head and not my heart, but I went with my heart.dddddddddddd I think Ive got to where I am by playing with my heart and using my heart a lot and I think that was a reaction with my heart.” The Mimico, ON native who signed a seven-year, $36.75-million with his hometown team in the off-season will now be forced to make his debut on Oct. 25 in Columbus. “All I can do now is to push these guys in practice…I will be the biggest supporter and Im hoping to travel with the day, but Ill be ready for that day when it comes." Being undrafted after spending three years with the OHLs Kitchener Rangers, the 29-year-olds path to the NHL has not come easy and he is confident his past experiences will help him deal with the pressure that comes with signing a lucrative free agent deal. “If I came here when I was younger in my career it may be different, but now I have a very supportive family at home and Im coming here and Im going to be myself. Im not changing for anybody, I dont care what the situation is. “I know what made me successful. Its going to the front of the net, its creating plays creating room on the ice, blocking shots.” Despite the suspension, his time in Toronto has been a positive one thus far and he feels like the Leafs are primed to build upon the teams first playoff berth in nearly a decade. "Weve got something special going on in this room. Weve got a great group of guys, were going in the right path, were going in the right direction. “Hopefully this shows everyone in the league that were together.” Cheap Buffalo Sabres Gear Wholesale Calgary Flames Jerseys Cheap Adidas Colorado Avalanche Jerseys Montreal Canadiens Outlet Store Wholesale New Jersey Devils Jerseys Adidas Arizona Coyotes Jerseys Cheap Adidas Boston Bruins Jerseys Cheap Adidas Carolina Hurricanes Jerseys Chicago Blackhawks Shop Free Shipping Wholesale Columbus Blue Jackets Jerseys Dallas Stars Shop Free Shipping Cheap Adidas Detroit Red Wings Jerseys Anaheim Ducks Jerseys China Wholesale Edmonton Oilers Jerseys Florida Panthers Shop Free Shipping Wholesale Los Angeles Kings Jerseys Minnesota Wild Outlet Store Cheap Adidas Nashville Predators Jerseys Cheap Adidas New York Islanders Jerseys New York Rangers Winter Classic Jerseys Cheap Adidas Ottawa Senators Jerseys Cheap Adidas Philadelphia Flyers Jerseys Wholesale Pittsburgh Penguins Jerseys Cheap Adidas San Jose Sharks Jerseys St. Louis Blues Winter Classic Jerseys Wholesale Tampa Bay Lightning Jerseys Toronto Maple Leafs Outlet Store Vancouver Canucks Outlet Store Cheap Adidas Vegas Golden Knights Jerseys Cheap Adidas Washington Capitals Jerseys Cheap Adidas Winnipeg Jets Jerseys ' ' '
